Living on the Road

with Jim and Gayle

April 2002

We loved Charleston, South Carolina.  We loved the architecture and the overall atmosphere.  We were lucky enough to be there when some of the old homes were opened to tourists.

We visited a plantation, Middleton Place.  It was beautiful.

We visited Foretravel friends,Jennette and Morris at their family place in Burgaw, NC.  It was really a pleasure to visit with them.

We stayed a couple of days in Cape Hatteras, NC then moved on to the coastal town of Quinby, VA.  The RV park here was deserted.  We enjoyed the peace and solitude.  We saw lots of animals including wild turkeys.  We clammed and fished for flounder.  A very enjoyable stay.

We attended the Foretravel Grandvention in Urbanna, VA.  We did a day trip to Colonial Williamsburg where we learned how much of the nation's path to independence (and later the Civil War) was centered here.
